Titanic Pocket Watch Auctioned

A ‘titanic’ auction took place in New York in which a single bidder made a bid for more than 5,000 artefacts from the wreckage of the Titanic. The lot included a diverse range of items which were being sold as a complete collection. Some of the items included in the lot were some binoculars, jewellery, tableware and of course a silver pocket watch.

You can see a video of the collection on the ITV news website.

Titanic Museum in Southampton

Before sinking in the Ocean and going down in history as the biggest non-combative sea accident in history, the Titanic set sail from Southampton with thousands of passengers. To honour the 100th anniversary of the ship setting sail, a new museum has been opened which features some items from passengers of the ship.

Titanic and Pocket Watches

There is a lot of news about the Titanic at the moment since the other day was the 100th anniversary of the ship setting sail. To commemorate this there has been the re-release of the brilliant film from the late 90’s starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet but redone in 3D. There is also a TV series running on ITV which tells the stories of different people aboard the ship.

Pocket Watch Video Games

Whilst looking for news stories relating to pocket watches the other day I nearly choked on my tea when a Google search returned a news item featuring the words ‘pocket watch games’. My mind whirred as I thought about what it was going to be about. Has someone developed a clip on accessory for your silver pocket watch that lets you play games or was it about games that can be played with a pocket watch?

New Pocket Watch Site

Check out my new mini site for pocket watches.

The site details different pocket watch manufacturers, most of which are available from this pocket watch site.

Have a look and I'd love to hear some feedback for further improvements.
